MEET THE COMEDIANS of the MAY 25th SHOW

Here's a bit about the comedians we have doing our second show on May 25th:

HIPPIEMAN

Hippieman, a native of Boulder, Colorado, has made two appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (see one of the videos HERE)and has been a national touring act for twenty years or more (depending on your accounting methods).

HEATHER SNOW

Heather is a Denver based comedian by way of Ohio. Her jaded, and dry sarcastic style draws from her every day life and trials of her completely drama-free upbringing in suburbia hell. She's been seen on TV Guide Channel's Stand-Up in Stilettos (click HERE for the video), Boston Women in Comedy Festival, and two time winner of the Denver's Best of Westword.

STEVE VANDERPLOEG

Steve Vanderploeg, a native of suburban Denver, and a tantalizingly fresh voice of comedy describes his story about breaking out of a sheltered childhood to striving to understand the human experience. His wacky, wit-filled descriptions of spontaneity and consistency of being the odd-man-out drive his comedic style. Speaking on behalf of the Myspace generation, he builds a bridge between the reserved, the personable and himself. He has performed at many of Colorado’s best comedy shows including Comedy Works, Too Much Fun! and The East Coast.

JAMES GOLD

James founded, organizes and markets the Dairy Comedy Showcase in addition to co-organizing Boulder's Amante Comedy Shows. His background includes two years of writing and performing for family-friendly musical theatre, but his stand-up is a far cry from those days.

His material is absurd and chaotic, and is drawn from such inspirational places as working shitty jobs, failing at relationships, having sex and making sandwiches.

He has performed at Denver Comedy Works and various dungeons in California that are probably closed by now.

And of course, we're very excited
to say that our Emcee for this show
is none other than:

SAM TALLENT

Sam Tallent is comedian from Denver, Colorado. The Denver Post called Sam “the surreal voice of an absurd generation” and the Denver Westword said that he had “the best comedy moment in Denver in all of 2012”. “An alt-comic road dog in the vein of Kinane and Stanhope” (SF’s courtingcomedy.com), Tallent has performed all over at places like the SF Punchline, the Creek and the Cave NYC, the Laughing Devil, the San Francisco Comedy and Burrito Festival and the New York Television Festival, as well as clubs and colleges across the Mid- and Southwest. He’s done lots of stuff with the Grawlix boys, debauched Bryan Cook’s Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction, crushed Kabin NYC and loves performing at the Business in SF. Sam is a founding member of the Fine Gentlemans Club, producers of the free weekly showcase “Too Much Fun!”, the Denver Post’s “best thing to do on any Wednesday night”. Brendon Walsh, Rory Scovel, Ron Funches, Chris Fairbanks, Kurt Braunholer, Adam Cayton-Holland and Dan Soder are all past guests. He is also the co-curator of Denver’s yearly Too Much Funstival! (“a must-see”-the Huffington Post), a four-day donation- based festival of comedy and music. Past events have included Ben Roy in a dunktank, a guided tour of the Denver Art Museum led by the Fine Gents, luchalibre wrestling opening for Sean Patton and TJ Miller performing in a bocci ball pit. Tallent put out three full-length digital downloads in 2012, recorded in 23 different states, and in March ’13 the Fine Gents are releasing a vinyl (recorded at the Denver Comedy Works, Sam’s home club) on Hot Congress Records. His interests include androgynous women and writing in the third person.
